KVK’s Diagnostic visit for Soybean Seed Germination Problem in Loha Taluka

KVK a team led by Dr. Krishna Ambhure visited different villages in Loha Taluka ahead of consistent complaints raised by farmers in the region regarding seed germination problem in the Soyabean crop.  Accompanied by the Agriculture Officer of Tq. Loha,  the fields in the region were visited by the KVK team to diagnose the cause for less germination (only 10 to 20%) besides good rain.  

Pre-Sowing Training on Soybean Production Technology

Pre-Sowing The training was held in Ikali (Mor) Tq. Naigaon Dist. Nanded on 17/06/2020 for 25 Soybean growing farmers with a distribution of Critical Inputs for NMOOP Oilseed Cluster Frontline Demonstration. Demonstration on Bullock Drawn CRIDA Planter

Bullock Drawn Planter demonstration was carried out in Kasrali on 16/06/2020 for Soybean crop- sowing. This planter was metering seed and fertilizer at suitable depth and distance. The application of the planter assures 15% to 22% increase in the yield of the soybean crop as compared to the conventional (Tifan) method.   Shri. Basavant Kasaralikar member of Vitthaleshwarr Haritkranti  Farmers Club gave feedback regarding the use of Bullock drawn planter.  

Demonstration on BBF Planter

The use of BBF planter for sowing soybean crops is carried out at Belkoni village. This Planter is known as Broad Bed Furrow Planter. It precisely plant a seed on the bed which is created with the help of the ridge formed by this seed planter serves the purpose of water supply as well as water storage which ultimately gives the best yield of crops. Demonstration of BBF planter for sowing soybean is carried out.

KVK Scientist's visit to Atkali and Naigoan for Backyard Farming:

KVK scientist Dr. Nihal Ahmed Mulla along with Mr. Pramod Deshmukh, Chairman, SS Mandal, Sagroli visited Atkali, Tq. Biloli Dist. Nanded and also along with Mrs. Madhuri Rewanwar to Takalgaon, Tq.Naigoan Dist.Nanded They visited farmers in these villages who are rearing backyard poultry. The data of ongoing OFT trial on Kavery birds for backyard farming was collected. They enlightened the farmers about feeding and management of backyard poultry; health benefits to family from the same and also about how to overcome the problems encountered in the backyard poultry farming. In feedback, farmers have expressed that the backyard poultry has helped them sustain in low income with more involvement of women & children.
